“The greatest evidence of Human depravity”

And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: 15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

The greatest evidence that men are depraved is not the mass murders of history by men like Mussilini, Hitler, Pol Pot, Jim Jones, etc. These are atrocious manifestation of demonic influence, certainly. But! this is not the height of human depravity. Then what is it? Religion without Christ!  Ignorance of the gospel. Neglect of the truth as it is in Christ. Departure from the only one who can save the soul with an everlasting salvation.

For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water. Jer 2:13,14

Daily we witness this depravity as men turn away the masses of society from the truth to lies. Tens of thousands daily are led astray from that simplicity which is in Christ by the gospel, into anther gospel, which is not the gospel at all. Gal 1:6-9

Our Lord Jesus like the wise woman of proverbs one, cries out, “ Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; 25 But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: Prov 2:24,25 Oh What darkness!

We heartily believe in Human depravity. Total, complete and irreparable apart from Sovereign grace. Every true believer does. We believe in God’s unconditional grace, in Jesus Christ for His chosen people. There is no salvation outside of it. God’s work of redemption through the atoning work of Jesus Christ, is for His sheep alone. It is a complete, perfect and eternal work of atonement, in which we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. We believe in the indomitable work of the Spirit of God, in the call, conversion, and conformity to Christ of all God‘s elect, through the gospel. Absolutely. And we know that what God has begun, He shall complete. This is the God of the bible, that He alone, shall get the glory ! 1cor 1:18-31

And such as despise, reject and appose this gospel of God‘s glory in Christ, is most depraved!

And were it not for God’s mercy, it would be true for you and me also. Ps 130:1-5 16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
