"Keep yourselves in the Love of GOD"

"Keep yourselves in the Love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life
Jude 21.

There are many snares, gins and traps out there child of God. Many deep pits and many slippery paths, by which you might be tempted to leave your course. By which you might be led away with the error of the wicked one. The Apostle tells us to safe guard our souls by keeping them in the Love of God.

Coldness of heart is the warning of apostate times. "And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold." Matthew 21:12.

Because of abounding ungodliness, by which men trod under the truth in open blasphemies against His Holy name, because worldliness and pleasure dominates our society, because churches by and large are no more than entertainment centers to cater to the whim and propensities of the flesh, because unbelief is at a stupefying proportion, because many have made their bellies there god, in the name of Christ, the love of many doth wax cold. What a timely warning to the people of God!

"Keep yourselves in the Love of God." That is to walk in the Spirit, which is love, peace and joy in the knowledge of Christ's benefits to our soul, by faith. To keep ourselves in the love of God is to maintain vital communion with Christ in earnest prayer, through the Spirit, and diligent union in the truth of the gospel, by which we are being built up. It is to condescend to men of low estate seeking the welfare of others. It is to walk humbly with the LORD your God.

"He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?" Micah 6:8.

Children of God, by so doing you will avoid the carpings of sensual men who have not the Spirit. The baseless strifes and contentions which amount to nothing but pride and self gratification, because of the subversion of souls, which hallmarks religion today. "I am of Paul , I am of Peter", and the rest.

Remember true faith works by divine love. A love which is "shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost", "because He first loved us". This will keep you out of those slippery paths which produce death, and will  position you to truly be able to minister to needy souls in the cause of Christ our Redeemer.

"By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples" John 13:35.

"And of some have compassion, making a difference: other save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh." Jude 23.

To do this we must be truly fit for the Master's use. We must "keep ourselves in the Love of GOD".
